I specialize in trauma-focused therapy for veterans, first responders, survivors of sexual trauma, and anyone living with the effects of PTSD. My approach is grounded in evidence-based treatments—including evidence based treatments like EMDR, Prolonged Exposure, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)—designed to help you process what happened, reduce symptoms, and reconnect with a sense of safety and control. Whether your trauma is recent or decades old, therapy can help you move toward healing at your own pace, in a compassionate and structured environment. You don’t have to navigate this alone, and recovery is possible. Ultimately, we will work together to create a specialized treatment plan to help meet your needs and achieve your personal goals.
EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps your brain process traumatic memories so they no longer feel overwhelming, intrusive, or “stuck.” Instead of retelling every detail of your trauma, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds—to help your mind and body release what’s been stored. Many people experience relief more quickly than they expect, and EMDR can be especially helpful for PTSD, sexual trauma, combat trauma, and first responder stress. You stay in control the entire time, and we move at a pace that feels safe for you.
Prolonged Exposure is a structured, highly effective therapy for PTSD that helps reduce avoidance, fear, and the sense of being constantly “on edge.” Trauma often teaches our brains that the world is unsafe, even long after the threat has passed. In PE, we work together to gently and gradually confront the memories, situations, or feelings you’ve had to avoid to cope. Over time, your brain relearns that you are safe now. PE is especially effective for veterans, first responders, and anyone experiencing intense anxiety or avoidance after trauma.
CPT helps you make sense of what happened and challenge the beliefs that trauma often leaves behind—like guilt, shame, or feeling “to blame.” Trauma can change how you see yourself, others, and the world. CPT provides a clear, supportive structure to understand these thoughts, explore how they impact your life, and replace them with beliefs that are more accurate and empowering. This therapy is particularly helpful for trauma survivors who feel stuck in patterns of self-blame, fear, or mistrust.
